I'm a writer/director working in feature film and commercials. I was born in Poland and came to the US as a political refugee at age six. Growing up as an immigrant in California allowed me to juxtapose the reality around me with an outsider's perspective. That awareness led me to study film directing at CalArts. After my short, The Loneliness of the Short-Order Cook, premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and received positive attention on the festival circuit, I decided to expand my knowledge of filmmaking by writing at night and directing commercials by day. Melding practical knowledge of creation, production, post-production, and branding with a passion for long-form storytelling, I have directed over 40 commercial films and have co-written a major motion picture that is currently in pre-production.
Currently based in Los Angeles, Calif. and Warsaw, Poland.
